I recently traveled to NYC for a few days for Market Week. Oh, how I remember the hustle and bustle from running from 1 appointment to the next - rain of shine...which I got both on this trip. It was just as humid as I remember so, I decided to wear the least amount of make-up to keep my skin from breaking out and lightweight clothing to keep cool.

I took Jordan and we flew in 2 days early to visit with friends and eat at our favorite local restaurants in Brooklyn. Walking around our old neighborhood felt so comfortable. It felt natural. We received warm greetings from our old neighbors that we ran into on the street and even the owner of our favorite bagel shop stopped to chat with us.

The first day in, we made sure to get pancakes at Cafe Luluc's. They have the best pancakes I have ever eaten (check out my Instagram for a picture of these beauties). I was also able to grab brunch with a few of my best girlfriends. Brunch turned into late night drinks, which my cousin ended up meeting us. And, we were also able to squeeze in dinner with one of our favorite couples at a restaurant that I didn't even realize was there. We went to Uncle Boon's in Soho...literally, 3 blocks away from my old office building. Uncle Boon's is a Michelin Star rated Thai restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is fun and pretty casual, and the food is spicy & delicious.

Honestly, if Rocky came with us, I don't think I would've gotten on my flight back to LA. Maybe it's the fast pace. Maybe it's the constant change. Maybe the city offers more adventure. Whatever it is, there's just something about NYC that always pulls me back.

Until next time.

xx, g
